English Language Learning Instructor - Peace River, Canada - Horizon Learning Centre

Description

We are looking for an experienced ELL teacher to join our team.

You'll organize courses for non-native speakers with diverse activities and methods that cover all aspects of English language (speaking, writing, and comprehending).

This position is primarily in person instruction. _Online instructors need NOT apply._

• Ongoing training for instructors is provided._

As an instructor at our learning centre, you'll create lesson plans based on each level of course you instruct or work off of curriculum.

You will assess where your learners are at and report back to the Executive Director each month.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Prepare classroom and course materials
• Complete student assessments
• Look for creative ways to assist learners who may be struggling
• Attend some provided training courses for English as a second language
• Create a supportive and positive classroom environment
• Maintain records of student attendance
• Collaborate with other English Language Learning instructors at Vision Learning Centre

Requirements and skills

• Preference will be given to those with previous experience as an ESL teacher or similar role Knowledge of various methods of teaching English to nonnative speakers
• Great organizational and communication skills
• A calm and resilient personality
• ESL or TESOL certification (preferable)

Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 4 months

Part-time hours: 15 per week


Salary:
$25.00-$27.00 per hour
