    Our Engineering Design Organization (EDO) is looking for an engaged, capable individual who is committed to continuous improvement to tackle the role of Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Engineer based out of one of our Western Canada offices.     Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Plan and be responsible for the delivery of instrumentation and controls (I&C) systems designs in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Support the preparation of proposals and bids for projects, developing or verifying the technical scope of a project, and developing design and construction fees
  • Provide design, engineering, and creative solutions to fit the needs of our clients and communities, as well as client specifications and industry codes and standards
  • Coordinate the work of the team, mentoring less experienced team members
  • Fulfill the I&C systems engineering needs for a wide variety of industrial and municipal clients
  • Participating in a multi-disciplinary environment in determining the instrumentation, controls and process automation requirements
  • Develop detailed engineering packages to represent installation requirements for process control systems and instrumentation
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of all deliverable products and services in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Technical review and quality control of design drawings and documents. Professional sealing of technical documents.
  • Provide commissioning and start-up support for projects in construction phase, representing the firm and supervising systems integration activities
  • Travel to fabrication sites, installation sites, and client facilities as needed. Participation in client meetings as needed.
  • Coordination of control system designs with other engineering disciplines (process, mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, , vendors, and outside design team members. Providing direction to and coordination with internal designers/drafting team

    • What you will bring to the team:

  • 8+ years of instrumentation and controls engineering design experience
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent education
  • P. Eng. designation
  • Strong working knowledge of P&IDs, instrumentation and control systems design (PLC/PAC/RTU/DCS/HMI/SCADA), networking, process automation, etc.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation used to measure and control flow, temperature, pressure, level and analytical properties as well as relevant codes and standards
  • Positive attitude, good interpersonal skills, and validated time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability in proposal preparation, budget control, performance analysis and contract management
