Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Specialist is an integral member of the Marketing, Communications, Alumni and Engagement department. The Communications Specialist will work closely with the Vice President Academic and Research, Director of Applied Research Operations and Director of LC Extension to elevate the profile and reputation of work in these areas and coordinate communications with industry partners and funding agencies.
Position Details
The Communications Specialist's primary area of focus will be writing for diverse audiences about our fast-growing and diverse Centre for Applied Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CARIE) and our continuing and corporate education provider, LC Extension. This involves being able to communicate highly specialized information about trends and research in agriculture, business, technology, public safety, health and social sciences in a way that's of interest and accessible to a general audience and also meets needs of industry-specific partners and potential partners.
Audiences will be both external and internal. Content uses will range from short marketing pieces to long-form articles for niche publications or case studies and blog posts.
