    At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for an experienced Sonographer- Ultrasound Technologist to support our Medical Imaging Department at our Joint Department of Medical Imaging (JDMI) sites.

    The General and Obstetrical Ultrasound departments provide an environment for leading edge clinical practice, teaching and research programs in ultrasound. The /7 main department conducts a large volume of various types of ultrasound exams for patient populations from the Emergency department to Outpatients and Inpatients.

    The responsibilities of the Sonographer- Ultrasound Technologist include but are not limited to:

  • Perform obs./gyn, abdomen, vascular, small parts and neonatal ultrasound imaging procedures
  • Operate, troubleshoot and ensure ultrasound, medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
  • Participate in teaching, educational, research, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
  • Perform cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned as per departmental needs
  • Job Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited degree/post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent preferred. Consideration for hire may also be given to applicants currently enrolled in an accredited degree/post diploma Ultrasound program – as a condition of hire the Ultrasound program must be successfully completed within six (6) months of hire
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
  • Registered with Sonography Canada with CRGS designation
  • Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) in Abdomen (AB) and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) (Preferred)
  • Registered with College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • 1 year recent related experience
  • Experience in the following modalities: vascular, neurosonography and fetal assessment preferred
  • Demonstrated maintenance of CME credits
  • Fulfill certification requirements and maintain credentials as required by the department i.e. Nuchal Translucency
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have clinical skill sets in Ultrasound specialties offered at Sinai Health
  • Excellent hand eye co-ordination
  • Ability to train in a variety of ultrasound related examinations, procedures, equipment
  • Demonstrated excellent critical thinking, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated attributes that foster a positive working environment
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively as a team member and work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
