    The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an **Mine Maintenance General Foreman

  • Fixed Plant
    to join our Glencore
    Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.**The position will be based in Onaping, Ontario.
This is a full-time, staff position.


Duties and Accountabilities:


This position is accountable to the Maintenance Superintendent to safely execute the maintenance scope of work in accordance with the budget, appropriate plans and schedules, adhering to recognized standards, organizing crews, setting priorities and coordinating all work in their area done by the Supervisors, Maintenance Personnel and Contractors.

Direct reports vary by site due to site size and location. Reports include Mechanical Supervisors, Maintenance Process Owners, Electrical Supervisors and Maintenance Planners.


The Maintenance General Foreman (MGF) is also accountable for yearly maintenance budgetsand for ensuring the maintenance management systems are used appropriately to support the site's maintenance function.


The MGF ensures that plans and procedures are formulated to continually improve maintenance effectiveness and works with the line organization to execute them.

Education and Skills
This position requires a strong maintenance background with a minimum of 10 years' experience

in mechanical and electrical operations, safety and maintenance management and is preferably a

The annual operating budget for this position ranges from $15M to $36M, depending on the size

and scope of the area. The size of the area varies from approximately 30 to 50 employees.

This position is a focused, result oriented maintenance role. It requires variable work hours and can be demanding and stressful, particularly in times of change or difficulty.

It also requires significant time underground (up to 50% in certain periods) and high visibility and accessibility by the workforce.
