Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Contractor's Assistant to join our team. As a General Contractor, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing renovation projects from start to finish.
This role requires a strong knowledge of various trades and the ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of construction/ renovation projects
- Hire and supervise subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
- Estimate project costs and prepare budgets
- Schedule and coordinate construction activities, including material deliveries and equipment rentals
- Ensure compliance with regulations, and safety standards
- Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect work quality and address any issues or concerns
- Take before and after pictures for report purposes.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a General Contractor or similar role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of various trades such as carpentry, electrical work, concrete finishing, flooring installation, tile laying, cabinet installation, construction painting, etc.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong problemsolving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders
Note:
This is a on-call casual position. Flexibility in taking shifts is required.
This is good for someone who have some experience in supervising trades, customer service, can speak English and can drive to sites in and around Vancouver.
