RBCM has over seven million objects and specimens and millions of significant government documents and records; substantial photographic, audio and video collections; artworks; and an extensive library of publications.
By exploring our human history and natural history, RBCM advances new knowledge and understanding of British Columbia, and provides for a dynamic forum for discussion and a place for cultural reflection.
Reporting to the CEO, the Vice President, Strategic Relations and Initiatives is a key contributor to the Museum's strong collaborative executive leadership team and has accountability for marketing, communications, business development, sales, exhibitions and experiences, membership development, box office, consumer research, corporate initiatives, (especially as they relate to government endorsement, communication or legislative/regulatory approval), museum events programming, and IMAX Victoria.
As a member of the Executive team, the position is an essential contributor to the fulfillment of the Museum's vision, mission, and strategic initiatives.
The Vice President aligns with the executive team and is dedicated to exploring the changing nature of museums and their relationships to the public, and is firmly committed both to excellence in exhibition development and experience programming and delivery.
