Mechanical Design Engineer – Residential Buildings Confidential Opportunity A residential development organization is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of mechanical systems for residential building projects. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external consultants and provides exposure to projects from early design through construction.<+Responsibilities
- Design and support mechanical systems for residential building projects, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems
- Prepare and review mechanical calculations, equipment selections, drawings schematics specifications
- Support the development of design tender construction documentation Coordinates mechanical designs with architectural structural electrical disciplines Participates in BIMbased coordination using Revit supports AutoCADbased documentation as required Reviews shop drawings RFIs contractor submissions technical input Participates in site reviews supports constructionstage coordination issue resolution Ensures designs comply with applicable building codes standards regulatory requirements Supports project schedules quality standards internal review processes Contributes to continuous improvement of design documentation practices
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Professional Engineer PEng designation Ontario Several years experience in mechanical building systems design Experience HVAC plumbing drainage fire protection systems Working knowledge applicable building codes standards OBC CSA ASHRAE NFPA Proficiency Revit AutoCAD Strong organizational communication problem solving skills Ability work independently collaboratively multidisciplinary team Additional Considerations Experience supporting residential building projects considered asset Exposure construction coordination commissioning activities asset Additional language skills may be considered asset
