Description
Support the management of shared resources across all projects.- Identify, develop, and implement project management methodologies, best practices, standards, and core project governance systems.
- Coaching, training, mentoring, and oversight of project management resources.
- Monitoring project compliance via the use of project management standards, policies, procedures, templates, as well as project management governance systems.
- Develop and manage project policies, procedures, templates, and other shared documentation.
- Coordination and communication across projects and the business.
Project Governance
- Develops, implements, and maintains the framework, functions, and processes that will guide project management activities across our business in efforts to create a unique and highquality product, provide an exceptional mining service, and materializes organizational, strategic, and operational objectives.
- Guides and supports the management of project related work.
- Ensures adherence to project management policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Establishes projectbased governance roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
- Supports decisionmaking regarding quantification, escalation, and management of projectbased risk, required changes, and resources.
- Ensures appropriate stakeholder engagement and supports effective stakeholder management.
- Monitors overall project performance.
- Provides project stakeholders with structure, processes, roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, and decisionmaking models that enable efficient and effective project management.
Project Management
- Defines critical success factors for the project.
- Manages schedule.
- Manages select financial reports.
- Manages activities and issues logs.
- Plans thoroughly and prioritizes diligently.
- Manages project elements, including schedule, cost, resources, and risk.
- Explains to others the essential business aspects of the project.
- Implements that project delivery strategy in a way that maximizes the business value of the project.
Project Lifecycle

_Initiation and Planning:_
- Supports the Business Development and Estimating departments throughout the assembly of prospective projects via commercial proposals.
- Supports the identification of key project stakeholders.
- Supports the planning of the project scope of work.
- Supports the definition of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS).
- Supports the definition of projectspecific control budgets and schedules.
- Plans for risk management.
_ Execution:_
- Supports the management of project work, quality, communications, and risk responses.
- Supports procurement and supply chain needs.
- Supports stakeholder engagement.
_ Monitoring and Controlling:_
- Controls scope, schedule, costs, quality, resources, and project communications.
- Directly monitors and enables the controls of project work.
- Monitors and escalates projectbased and businessrelated risks.
_ Closure:_
- Supports and actively participates in the closeout of projects.
Contract Management
- Understands contractual requirements for implementing adequate project controls and change management throughout project execution.
- Engages project leadership and project reporting to understand the progress of work on site.
- Ensures systems are in place to facilitate communication and reporting that support a timely contract change management process.
- Identifies and communicates contractual risks and contractual changes.
GENERAL COMPETENCIES:
Advanced Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office 365 Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Data Gathering and Analysis.
Intermediate Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Project, Primavera P
- Budget Formulation, Forecasting and Reconciliation.
- Risk Analysis.
- Technical Writing.
- Project Management and Work Planning.
- Occupational Health and Safety.
- ERP Software.
- CMMS Software.
- Contracts.
WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering and/or Applied Sciences is considered an asset.
- Proficient understanding of formal Project Management principles.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) credential is considered an asset.
- Lean Six Sigma and/or Agile Project Management experience and/or credentials are considered an asset.
- 10+ years of experience within the heavy construction and/or mining industry.
- Previous experience in direct project management of heavy construction and/or mining related projects.
- Previous experience in development and implementation of project management governance frameworks.
- Previous experience in developing highperformance teams is considered an asset.
- Progressive experience and career progression in direct Project Management related roles.
