This position is based with the Manufacturing Support Team.

It has the responsibility and authority to plan, propose, train and coach Ross Video personnel in the implementation of advanced manufacturing techniques, for example Lean Manufacturing, 5S Housekeeping Techniques and Processes, Setup Time reduction, Demand Flow management etc., and to develop methods of measurement of success.

In conjunction with manufacturing management, the incumbent will plan and direct activities to secure short lead time, flexible manufacturing and supply chain processes targeted to reduce lead times, increase service levels and flexibility, reduce overall costs and improve quality.

What the job is all about:

  • The primary focus of this role is to provide crucial support to shop floor personnel on surface mount, through hole and mechanical issues
  • Supporting shop floor equipment including screen printers, pick and place, reflow ovens, AOI, wave solder and mechanical assembly tools
  • You will have the ability to execute root cause research to resolve supplier and manufacturing quality issues and be responsible to maintain and update manufacturing work instructions and procedures along with care of and the calibration, maintenance of manufacturing equipment
  • This role supports all schedules and may require dedicated night shifts. As a dedicated team player, you will assist in the development and implementation of training, and of project plans
  • This is a role for a team player, as you will collaborate with cross functional teams to provide advice that will expedite the adoption of techniques and processes that support lean manufacturing and elimination of waste
  • Making decisions that support business and continuous improvement opportunities within an industrial engineering environment, always with safety in mind

Who you are:


  • You possess a postsecondary education or equivalent work experience in electronics manufacturing and design processes and procedures
- (Minimum 5 years) with comprehensive knowledge of IPC standards for electronics manufacturing

  • A demonstrated knowledge of SMT processes and equipment is preferred
  • This role requires an ability to manage several complex tasks at a time, working individually or in a team
  • Your ability to work with technical and nontechnical team members is key to the role
  • Your organisational abilities are persistent, and you show attention to detail and accuracy, with solid verbal and written communications skills, in English
  • Experienced in continual process/systematic improvement projects while participating as a team member

  • An advanced skill level with standard office tools (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and excellent leadership, planning, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem solver that can anticipate, identify, solve and prevent
  • Ability to work well with technical and nontechnical staff
