    Description

    Lax kw'alaams is establishing a kindergarten to Grade 12 School Board and is seeking dedicated and passionate individuals to join our team as Board Members. We are looking to recruit five (5) Members who are committed to making a positive impact on our school community.

    Qualifications:

    • A strong commitment to education and the well-being of students.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Experience in education, administration, or related fields is preferred but not required.
    • One (1) non resident registered Band Member.
    • In the event no non-resident registered Band Members apply, this seat will be filled by a registered member residing in Lax Kw'alaams.
    • Not an employee of Lax Kw'alaams Community School.
    • Must be 19 years of age or older.

    • Board Members will be remunerated for meetings/events attended.

    Time Commitment:

    • Board Members are expected to attend monthly meetings and participate in various school events and activities. Additional time may be required for committee work and special projects.

    Application Process:

    • Interested candidates should submit their resume and a cover letter outlining their qualifications and motivation for joining the Board.
    • Resume and cover letter can be sent to by June 27, 2025.
    • Successful Board Members must be willing to provide a Criminal Record Check.
