Job Overview
Schedule Line: Tuesday–Saturday, including Wednesday evening
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Lab Division Lead to oversee the daily operations of our in-house optical lab. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising lab technicians, ensuring quality control, managing timelines, and maintaining financial accuracy within the lab division.
This role requires someone who leads by example, takes ownership, and thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support our lab technicians to ensure smooth daily operations
- Answer questions from both lab technicians and optical consultants, guiding them to the correct resources and coaching them to solve problems independently
- Verify completion of opening and closing procedures
- Monitor job timelines and resolve overdue work
- Troubleshoot delays with external labs and delegate communication appropriately
- Ensure all jobs meet internal quality standards before release
- Audit job orders for pricing accuracy and proper discounts
- Reconcile external lab invoices
- Track returns and vendor credits
- Monitor lab supplies proactively
- Respond to urgent communications and provide clear direction to team members
Requirements
- Tuesday–Saturday, including Wednesday evening
- 3+ years optical lab experience (edging, troubleshooting, ordering)
- Previous leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail
- Confident addressing performance gaps constructively
- Comfortable reviewing and reconciling financial documents
- Able to coach team members and guide staff to independent problem-solving

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 38 per week
