Osteria Rialto is part of the Paradise Theatre complex, a 1937 heritage designated Art Deco venue in Toronto's Bloorcourt neighbourhood.
Job descriptionUnder the direction of the management team consisting of the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine and Sous Chefs.
As a part of the restaurant team, the fundamental duties of the Line/Prep Cook include responsibility for food preparation, lunch and or dinner service, station management, daily ordering and kitchen cleaning as well as preparing items for retail.
Back of House employees are responsible for enacting all the day-to-day operations of Osteria Rialto and will maintain a safe, welcoming and professional environment for all staff, guests, and vendors.

Kitchen Operations:
- Responsible for station food production for our hours of operation
- Strong and effective communication with Head Chef, Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chefs and General Manager
- Organize yourself and your station for success each service
- Set goals to achieve success short term and long term
- Maintain daily cleanliness and sanitation of your production and service areas, equipment and your appearance
- Ability to deal with high pressure environments while maintaining a standard set by management and yourself
Required Experience:
- Professional and personable; exceptional guest relations skills
- 1+ year of experience in highvolume food production or catering roles
- Understanding of intermediate culinary techniques, professional cooking equipment and material
- Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
- Strong attentiontodetail and organizational skills
Required Skills:
- Ability to conduct one's self calmly and effectively under pressure
- Solutions and detailoriented individual with a high degree of professionalism
- High energy, personable and teamoriented collaborator
Work Environment:
- This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work
- Lifting and/or moving up to 20 lbs. regularly; occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.
