PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board operates a French summer camp for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 during the summer IIL program, from July 4 to July 28.

The Board is seeking to hire French language teachers to work during the French summer camps.

Anyone offered and accepting work within the program is afforded with protection through district policies and procedures pertaining to all aspects of their work, including Health & Safety.

Please note that your work within the program does not allow you to accrue Continuing Education seniority credits.

Tuesday, July 4, 2023 to Friday, July 28 : Classes 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Current and relevant classroom experience.

OCT

OCT Qualifications in French at P/J, J/I levels.

Additional Qualifications in Special Education and/or ESL.

Direct co-learning experience(s) with other teachers in effective classroom practices.

Experience working in a summer camp environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, coordinate, and implement a program that is optimal for the French language learning and that reflects the standards of teaching practice in Ontario;

Ensure the safety and well-being of students;

Familiarity with digital tools (e.g., Google Meet, Google Classroom, Google Site, etc.) to be able to teach virtually;

Incorporate equitable and inclusive learning practices;

Assess and evaluate students' progress;

Attend meetings and/or professional development learning opportunities.

Report to the Summer School Site Principal

SALARY:
$29 per instructional hour + 4% vacation pay
