    Vacancy: Single storey-Jr High school, consisting of standard classrooms, library, gymnasium and administrative complex. Hot water heating system with central heating and ventilation unit.

    Hours of Work : Day Shift (commences after 7:00 a.m. and before 2:00 p.m.)

    Overall Accountability: Responsible for the care, cleaning and security of the school building and all of its grounds. Performs interior and exterior cleaning of school and grounds maintenance. Schedules the work of the Cleaning Assistant and Cleaners. Participates in and provides leadership and direction in such work as well as in other work that may be required by the School Principal and/or Caretaking Manager or Supervisor.

    Specific Accountabilities: Self-motivated person who has demonstrated ability to apply proper caretaking procedures and to provide competent leadership as well as effective scheduling and supervision of work. Demonstrated ability to work harmoniously and communicate effectively with caretaking and instructional staff, school principal and students. Ability to maintain air handling equipment to designed standards. Reliable attendance and punctuality with satisfactory evaluations in the performance of caretaking duties. Demonstrated ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance of structures and equipment.

    Qualifications : Possession of a valid Alberta Building Operator "B" Certificate, or Fifth Class Power Engineering Certificate of Competency, and meets the minimum legislated requirements for heating surfaces in accordance with the Alberta Boiler Safety Association(ABSA), together with demonstrated ability to properly and safely start up and operate a school heating system. Successful completion of Calgary Catholic Schools Caretaking Course

    The successful applicant will attend an orientation meeting with the Principal and Caretaking Manager/Supervisor.
