Under general supervision, the incumbent will observe the control operation of various Automation and Control systems through site operational monitoring, using the CCMS and/or EMRS.

Through understanding energy flows, building mechanical and electrical controls, and automation integrity, the incumbent will maintain the CCMS system and its equipment.


Typical Duties:

The following illustrative tasks indicate the level of skill required and the extent of responsibility involved in this job.

They in no way limit the incumbent to the tasks indicated:


  • Report building system sourced operational problems to the building operator and provide assistance to operators/trades as needed to trouble shoot the system.
  • Troubleshoot and restore to proper operating condition all defective CCMS field equipment including CCMS multiplex panels and other electronic devices connected to the CCMS Multiplexers.
  • Interface, test and commission CCMS multiplex panels for the extension of system control/monitoring capability.
  • Support transition from Multiplexers to DDC controllers as per management directives.
  • Maintain records per established practices.
  • Review all DDC controller's health, Field device system alarms (including meters, Refrigeration alarms, CO systems, etc.), metering data and report to Manager, Building Automation and Operations regularly regarding any anomalies.
  • Assist in monitoring the operation of the Building Systems by identifying deviation from established operational ranges.
  • Review energy trends using data gathered through Site wide monitoring systems.
  • Provide reports to Operational Management on recorded and metered data.
  • Recommend required trend data to establish and monitor stable Automatic operational control loops.

Qualifications:

(MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS)


Education:
Minimum Third Class Operating Engineer TSSA Certificate. Having a Building Environmental Systems certificate will be considered as an asset.


Experience:
Minimum 3 years operating engineer experience.


Other:

Strong communication skills in English (written/oral) must be a team player and enjoy working in a structured team environment.
