About the Role


The Tax Specialist plays an active role in the delivery of tax planning engagements, meeting expectations for budget, timeframe and quality.


Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing technical research and prepare tax correspondence and memos for estate planning and corporate reorganizations
  • Completing complex tax planning calculations for corporate reorganizations and divestitures
  • Completing complex tax compliance
  • Providing support for team members on tax related matters for all clients
  • On an ongoing basis, identify opportunities for additional Rise services with existing clients and proactively move the opportunity forward within the firm as required
Open to hybrid schedules


Required Experience, Qualifications and Characteristics:


  • Undergraduate university degree
  • CPA designation
  • Enrolled in the CPA Canada Indepth Tax Course would be an asset but not required
  • 3 years of public practice experience
  • Familiarity with the issues and challenges faced by smalltomedium sized businesses
  • Independent, highly motivated, and a selfstarter
  • Multitasker and can manage multiple clients simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Effective relationshipbuilder we want our clients and your direct reports to love you
