About the Role
The Tax Specialist plays an active role in the delivery of tax planning engagements, meeting expectations for budget, timeframe and quality.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Performing technical research and prepare tax correspondence and memos for estate planning and corporate reorganizations
- Completing complex tax planning calculations for corporate reorganizations and divestitures
- Completing complex tax compliance
- Providing support for team members on tax related matters for all clients
- On an ongoing basis, identify opportunities for additional Rise services with existing clients and proactively move the opportunity forward within the firm as required
Required Experience, Qualifications and Characteristics:
- Undergraduate university degree
- CPA designation
- Enrolled in the CPA Canada Indepth Tax Course would be an asset but not required
- 3 years of public practice experience
- Familiarity with the issues and challenges faced by smalltomedium sized businesses
- Independent, highly motivated, and a selfstarter
- Multitasker and can manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
