JOB SUMMARY:

Lantic is currently recruiting a quality, food safety and environment coordinator based at our Montreal refinery. The position reports to the Director of Quality, Food Safety and Environment.

The coordinator is involved in various programs associated with the quality and environment department to ensure the safety, quality and reliability of products.

He/she verifies the production and the process, ensuring compliance with the specifications and reliability standards required either by the various levels of government, by customers, or by Lantic.

The incumbent also supports the administration of the laboratory.

Within the scope of his/her duties, the Quality Assurance and Environment Coordinator will comply with the Health and Security policies in effect, the good operating practices, and the Food reliability policies in effect.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Train and raise employee awareness, integrate new employees, carry out periodic health inspections of each department;
  • Ensure followup, verify corrective measures, compile and disseminate statistics on activities related to the department;
  • Carry out periodic health inspections of each department and distribute inspection reports to the people concerned;
  • Compile and disseminate statistics on these inspections;
  • Take care of the entire "customer support" aspect, including the management of customer communications through complaints, technical requests, updating and issuing technical documents (e.g. certificate of analysis, specifications);
  • Ensure the conformity of products and their healthiness/food safety;
  • Participate in Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) inspections, ensure activities dictated by the latter (e.g. recall test);
  • Be the key person for food reliability audits (e.g. GFSI, internal food reliability audit, external warehouse, supplier) and customer audits;
  • Ensure the proper management of noncompliant products by evaluating them and establishing the appropriate disposition;
  • Any other related tasks required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • Bachelor's in Science or Food Technology (SFT), chemistry or equivalent;
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in a similar position;
  • Knowledge of English/French in order to be able to communicate with both of our English and French sites;
  • Ability for analysis and synthesis;
  • Strong decisionmaking and communication skills as well as outstanding professional ethics;
  • Creative spirit and innovative;
  • Ability to facilitate meetings;
  • Ability to adapt;
  • Team oriented and active listening skills;
  • Keen sense of responsibility;
