Maintain confidentiality- Maintain a clean, safe, organized, welcoming and inclusive environment
- Maintain ratios at all times
- Expectation is to be able to care for 5 Toddlers OR 10 Preschoolers OR total of 15 points on your own
- Treat all children, staff and families with respect and dignity
- Be knowledgeable and stay current in the areas of child development and support
- Follow and implement all Next Generation ELC policies, procedures, philosophies, and curriculum
- Guide children using appropriate strategies and techniques
- Be a "playpartner"; actively engage with children throughout the day
- Get down to their level
- Ask engaging and expanding questions
- Use descriptive language
- Model appropriate and desired behaviour and language
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and families and maintain open lines of communication
- Promptly address any parent/guardian concerns to the best of your ability
- If required, direct concern to the Director
- Familiarize yourself with the children in your care
- Read child's file and social resume
- Know any allergies, dietary restrictions, or health concerns
- Be aware of home situations
- Complete two observations per day
- Observations are made on children's free play during the day
- Plan and implement three developmentally and ageappropriate activities each week, based on the interests of the children
- Be able to observe and make documentative notes about children's behaviours
- Check groceries, supplies and equipment regularly
- Provide list to Director each month
- Be able to fill out Medication Forms, Minor Injury Reports or other documentation appropriately and promptly
- Read communication book daily
- Be able to lift up to 40 lbs., get down and up to engage with children and perform cleaning duties
- Set up and clear meal areas, wash and put away dishes, complete daily and weekly cleaning duties as listed
- Attend monthly staff meetings
Pay:
$18.74-$25.11 per hour

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Saskatoon, SK: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Education:
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- CPR AND FIRST AID (required)
