    Scope of the Position

    The Information Systems Director - EDI is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, implementing and supporting areas such as Enterprise Resource Planning, Sequencing Applications, Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse systems. The IS Director - EDI is also responsible for ensuring that all related systems are being maintained within the facilities they support.

    Responsibilities

  • Directs the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems, and systems software to meet management and company's EDI information needs.
  • Establishes IS EDI policies, standards, practices and security measures to ensure effective and consistent information processing operations and to safeguard information resources.
  • Selects, develops, and motivates qualified staff to effectively carry out department functions and provide for the continuity of managerial and specialized skills.
  • Maintains knowledge of developments in the area of EDI systems and incorporates new developments into the future EDI systems of the company.
  • Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity
  • Implement EDI software solutions for operational needs.
  • Research and recommend improvements to the organization's EDI software and infrastructure.
  • Develop computer information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing and disaster recovery.
  • Install new or rebuild existing services settings, storage, etc. to achieve operational requirements and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with users, management, vendors, and customers regarding EDI requirements.
  • Constantly monitor and assess systems to make sure that processes are operating as designed.
  • Collaborate with other IS and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security, and ongoing performance.
  • Plan for EDI backup and recovery.
  • Control and monitor user access in EDI system and VAN
  • Expertise in ETL processes and Business Intelligence Reporting writing tools (as applicable).
  • Review Epicor CMS EDI logs in depth to ensure productivity is not impacted.
  • Develop and maintain expertise through professional associations and professional development opportunities.
  • Advise management of new applications or potential system enhancements in support of future EDI requirements.
  • Act as a technical resource during other projects as required and support management in all IS needs.
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EDI systems design and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of EDI systems design, installation, backup, recovery, storage management, methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Able to interpret the EDI operational requirements of end users, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot programming changes, errors, and subsequent modifications.
  • Preferred strong working knowledge of Trusted Link iSeries (Tli).
  • Able to stay abreast of current and future EDI technological developments or trends.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Support on a 24/7 basis when required.
