The Community Resources Worker reports to the Manager, Community Resources, FDRP and Youth Services, and is responsible for coordinating fundraising activities, external communications, social media management, donation management, and volunteer coordination.
What you'll do
- Promote public awareness of and support for programs by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events.
- Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, including funders, community organizations, media, donors, and the general public.
- Assist in organizing special events and public announcements.
- Support donor and volunteer relations.
- Draft and support content for proposals, grants, and media materials.
- Coordinate press releases and social media posts.
- Monitor social media and news coverage.
- Assist in the production of promotional materials.
- Ensure adherence to confidentiality rules.
- Represent the agency at public events.
- Provide orientation and ongoing support to program volunteers.
- Make recommendation to the manager regarding program development, policy and procedure formulation and program evaluation.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and community leaders to identify opportunities for corporate donations or partnerships.
- Maintain related records and statistics and produce reports as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
What you bring
- Post secondary education in communications, marketing, volunteer management, or other related field, plus a minimum of two years experience in a relevant role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in digital information technology systems and social media platforms.
- Proficiency in software and design programs (such as Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Canva, Microsoft Office).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong relationshipbuilding abilities.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as being a collaborative team player.
- Successful completion of a criminal record check
- Certification in First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or MANDT
- Valid B.C. Driver's License and a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
Job Types:
Part-time, Permanent
Salary:
$25.05-$28.75 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
