Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, Material Management, the incumbent is responsible for the procurement of supplies, analyzing trends, sourcing competitive products, and assisting staff as required.

To support our strategic direction of Quality Patient Care, the buyer is required to have the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain goods and services in a strategic, ethical and transparent manner.

This position requires a strong team member that embraces collaboration within all departments and staff.


Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:


Required

  • Successful completion of High School Diploma and a minimum one year of experience in healthcare supply chain, or postsecondary diploma in Business/Supply Chain Management/Logistics
  • Successful Completion of SCMA course Supply Management
  • Procurement or Strategic Sourcing or an equivalent 13 week introduction to supply chain course
  • Certificate in Healthcare Supply Management or willingness to obtain within twelve months
  • Thorough knowledge of supply chain processes and healthcare products (to be tested)
  • Experience with Materiel Management Database software, Medisolution
  • Knowledge of database fundamentals, standardization and quality
  • Excellent computer skills: procurement systems, reporting systems, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word to be tested)
  • Ability to understand, respect and maintain ethics and confidentiality at all times
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt within a fastpaced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to prioritize effectively within the changing environment
  • Ability to multitask efficiently
  • Ability to maintain a high level attention to detail required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to be a strong team member
