SUMMARY:
The Machine Repair Technician will be performing troubleshooting tasks and repairs. Duties include diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and reconditioning of insulation blowing machines and equipment.

Additional Duties:
All inbound and outbound machine freight and small parcel shipments. Conducting quality inspections prior to shipment, inventory counts as needed, maintenance and tracking of all equipment and parts.

  • Inspect equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.
  • Repair equipment to good working condition.
  • Test equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Machine is to be prepared to send back out to customer: cleaning of machine and sticker replacement as needed.
  • Prepare and palletize machines for shipment.
  • Schedule shipments, complete receipts and tracking of all freight and small parcels.
  • Receive and organize incoming machines.
Machines that cannot be repaired will be disassembled.

  • Keep parts that do work and can be reused.
  • Help organize and maintain inventory of parts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
A


General:

  • Must know how to and be capable of safely operating all shop repair tools.
  • Must be team oriented but self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Must be reliable and be able to work 40+ hours per week including weekends when necessary.
  • Skills in planning and organizing work.
  • Maintaining a clean work area and housekeeping skills are essential.

Intellectual:

  • Must have skills to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems in an effective and timely manner.
  • Must be organized and able to keep accurate paperwork and computer databases.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communications skills are essential. Must be able to work within a team environment.

Physical:

  • Repeated lifting, up to 75 lbs.
  • Be able to stand for approximately 75% of the workday.
  • Frequent squatting and kneeling
  • Good manual dexterity with hands to pick up small parts, use hand tools, etc.
  • Good visual acuity

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A


Knowledge:
Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

Basic welding/cutting operations.

Basic mathematic knowledge

Basic computer skills

Experience:
Safe use and operation of hand/power tools

Welding experience

Equipment used:
Variety of basic hand tools and test equipment.

Licenses/Certificates Required:
Valid drivers license

Ability to become certified as a forklift operator after attending a company sponsored training program.


Must be able to be medically cleared by a physician to wear a respirator and pass a respirator fit test training offered by the company.

Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with a high level of dust (at times).

Pay:
$18.00-$26.00 per hour
