As our Manager, Indigenous Relations, you'll ensure that the company's efforts to build relationships and reconciliation with Indigenous communities and leaders are authentic and effective.
The role will advance the company's Indigenous reconciliation strategy and engage with the company's projects, operations, and maintenance projects, as well as opportunities for renewable energy projects.
In this role, you will:
Execute Indigenous relations activities that aligns with the company's overall reconciliation strategy including delivery of Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) objectives.
Engage with Indigenous communities on projects, operations & maintenance initiatives and explore potential renewable energy project opportunities.
Invest in building relationships and learning from key Indigenous leaders and organizations
Provide leadership and coaching to the Indigenous Relations team
Identify opportunities for Indigenous participation and economic development initiatives and collaborate with internal teams to implement those initiatives
What it takes:
A bachelor's degree in business administration, communications or other related disciplines from a recognized program, and a minimum of five years of recent and related experience and demonstrated success in strategic consultation and engagement.
A genuine and authentic personality that creates and builds trusting and lasting relationships.
A passion for learning, understanding and supporting Indigenous communities.
Strategic and able to understand the overall picture of any situation to achieve long term success. Additional Information
This position will require evening and weekend work and travel away from the base office to attend meetings and deliver presentations etc.
