Section Manager, Scheduling offers a unique opportunity in industrial project management to provide leadership and strategic scheduling, cost management, cost/schedule integration in support of managing projects from initiation to closeout, and to ensure sequence and lead time of each operation meet deadlines, achieve business goals and improve nuclear operations.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Supervise a team providing reporting, data management, output distribution, process monitoring and job scheduling services.
  • Support the project managers and vendor partners with project controls activities on assigned projects, this includes monthly activities (i.e. forecasting, schedule management ), managing cost and schedule changes and integration, supporting gates strategies, preparation, and approval.
  • Responsible for the planning, preparing and integration of work activities necessary for operations to function in a logical process that will optimize site capabilities and achieve the highest productivity in a safe and functional environment.
  • Manage the preparation of site work schedule.
  • Schedule all field activities for operations, outage and project work.
  • Provide resource balancing for site work based on scheduled tasks.
  • Provide interface process for all site schedules.
  • Provide data for plant and process performance monitoring of costs and schedules.
  • Establish procedures and documentation to ensure that all services provided by the units in the section meet user requirements and standards of performance.
  • Ensure that adequate backup procedures for the continued provision of the unit's services are maintained and tested at regular intervals to satisfy audit requirements and cost considerations.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Applied Science or Business OR Technical College Degree OR relevant experience
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is considered an asset

QUALIFICATION

  • Experience working in multidisciplinary and multiphase long term projects/programs.
  • Knowledge and solid understanding of the interrelationships and role of organizational units, interrelationships between work groups, external contractors and consultants involved, and the mechanics of resolving any controversial issues.
  • Ability to quickly understand business processes and their risk implications, analyze complex situations to reach appropriate conclusions;
  • Exhibits strong leadership qualities and possesses welldeveloped analytical and communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Demonstrated ability to provide direction, including providing advice and influencing personnel to make good decisions;
  • Proficient with Excel, Primavera6 (P6) and Ecosys;
  • A resultsoriented focus is essential, as is the ability to work in a fastpaced changing environment and effectively manage several projects simultaneously.
