We are currently seeking a talented and dedicated Senior Transportation Engineer/ Designer to complement and grow our skilled Transportation Roads and Highways Team in the Greater Toronto Area with offices in Markham and Burlington. Reporting to the Department Manager, you will assist in the engineering design and delivery of transportation planning and design projects.

Responsibilities:

As an integral member of the Roads and Highway Team, responsibilities will include:

Developing and evaluating planning and design alternatives.

Undertaking engineering analysis and design.

Preparing engineering reports.

Communicating and coordinating with multi-disciplinary project teams.

Preparing working day estimates and preparing construction schedules and cost estimates.

Preparing and reviewing contract documentation.

Undertaking quality control of project deliverables.

Assist with the directing and coordinating of the roadway/ highway design team.

Assisting with staff development and mentoring.

Assisting with client liaison.

Qualifications:

We are seeking individuals with the following qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology/ Technician diploma.

Professional registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario or Certification through the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the transportation engineering industry specifically related to preliminary and detail design.

Demonstrated knowledge and application of engineering principles, standards, and practices.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with the design team and clients.

Demonstrated working knowledge of MTO polices, standards, and specifications an asset.

Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
