Description
We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper. This is a permanent position and requires between 25 to 30 hours work per week.

The person can work from his/her home office, visit the store periodically to pick up documents and do relevant bank work.

Following is a list of activities

i) Data entry of transactions in the accounting software. Ensure the books of accounts are recorded on time and maintained in an accurate complete manner.

ii) Preparing periodical bank, inter-co reconciliations and vendor reconciliations.

iii) Making timely payments of accounts payables.

iv) Raising invoices, debit/credit notes, purchase orders as required.

v) Preparing and updating operating cash flows.

vi) Preparing monthly financial statements after passing necessary accrual entries.

vii) Co-ordinate processing of payroll and employee benefit schemes.

viii) Filing periodical GST & PST returns.

ix) Coordinate with corporate accountant to prepare monthly, yearly financials and filing necessary tax returns.


Expected qualification, skills and experience:

  • A suitable course in accounting.
  • At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience.
  • Good knowledge of accounting standards, fiscal procedures, and applicable tax codes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Handson experience with accounting software preferably Sage.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions)
  • Timemanagement and organization skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Maintain confidentiality.

Job Type:
Part-time

Part-time hours: 25-30 per week


Salary:
$23.00-$30.00 per hour

  • French not required

  • Courtenay, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • QuickBooks: 1 year (preferred)
  • Bookkeeping: 3 years (required)
