Nature & Scope:
Reporting into the Senior Manager, Government Contracts, the coordinator will play a pivotal role in YMCA BC's Children and Youth Services team.
This position will be essential in ensuring daily tasks related to provincial childcare contracts are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
The coordinator will be working in a fast- paced dynamic environment, dealing with monthly and annual reports, coding funds and being the first point of contact to answer questions for childcare staff. This role will ensure programs are registered to budget targets and efficiencies and transparency in our services.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for a high level of administrative tasks including but not limited to coding of funds to meet provincial guidelines, reviewing of contracts, and assisting with monthly and annual reporting.
- Coordinating and updating Account payable with GL code changes.
- Work closely with the finance team to create efficiencies and accuracy in our government reporting.
- Analyzing and reviewing credit card statements to ensure accurate cost center allocations and GL coding.
- Review government contracts as needed and collaborate with Senior manager to ensure YMCA BC is meeting the outlined requirements.
- Be an engaged and integral part of a cohesive team, working to achieve the mission of YMCA BC
- Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, managers and key stakeholders.
- Additional administrative projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications/Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience providing administrative support in a fastpaced office environment
- A minimum of 3 years of financial experience (Accounts payable/ accounts receivable) preferred.
- Post secondary degree in business administration or accounting. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong Computer proficiency
- Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Office365 required.
- Experience with Sage intact is considered an asset.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to type quickly and accurately in multiple programs
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and multitask in high demand environment
- Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments and decisions; effective prioritizing and problemsolving skill.
- Welldeveloped interpersonal skills
- High degree of independence and initiative within a team environment.
- Check/Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months preceding your start date
