    Quality/Yard Control - 9 month term
    Hourly Wage: $31.50 per hour
    Location: Burns Lake
    Schedule: This position works Monday to Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm

    Daily Tasks

    • Collect scale slips
    • Collect all samples from trucker's room and bring to lab
    • Wipe down counters/computer/keyboard in trucker's room and maintain general cleanliness of area
    • Maintain printer supplies and functionality
    • Test all fiber samples in Valmet (Shavings in Sartorius), put a cup of fiber into machine pushes button
    • Core sample (drill) ALL pulp load logs, going outside, drilling into whole logs to get moisture samples
    • Test all PULP samples in Sartorius Moisture Analyzers
    • Test yard samples as requested
    • Enter all moisture results into Labwhiz system
    • Ash test designated samples
    • Liaise with all truckers on a daily basis, outside talking to them, in the yard, on the radio

    Administrative

    • Check all scale slips for errors and separate into Mill/Product
    • Attach all moisture slips to corresponding scale slips
    • Once all loads are verified in Log Inventory Management System (LIMS) you can print 'Load Cost' reports, attach mill slips and give to Admin.
    • Conduct 'New Driver' orientations and file them accordingly
    • Email suppliers on an as needed basis if missing scale slips or there are scale slip discrepancies/errors
    • Coordinate tasks at end of month with Plant Accountant
    • Check all trucks in and out. All information to be verified.

    Yard Support

    • Use of skid steer to clean scale and shovel scale
    • Regular scale maintenance in extreme temperatures, requiring salting, shoveling mud/snow, use a shovel and sanding walkways.
    • Maintaining clear walkways in all weather conditions
    • Daily fuel dip for Fuel company
    • Measuring log decks, measure the length, height width, done once a a month, locating in yard log.
    • Flying drone for quarterly surveys, standing outside, using drone controls.
