We are looking for an experienced & motivated Operations Associate to join the Stifel Canada team.

The Operations Associate will be responsible for preforming a variety of administrative functions in support of the Operations department and the Sales/Trading team to facilitate a smooth operation for the firm.

  • Summary_
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Operations Associate will be in charge of supporting the Sales/Trading team with tasks that may include but are not limited to:

  • Performing general clerical operational tasks
  • Assisting with new account opening and maintenance
  • Trade reconciliation
  • Manual trade approval /cancels and corrects
  • Completion of compliance requests
  • Liaison with Sales and Trading assistants
  • Assist branch offices with inquiries
  • Act as a liaison with carrying broker on various tasks, including but not limited to registered accounts.

  • Credit journals
  • Qualifications & Skills_
  • Minimum two (2) years of full time work experience in an Operations department; knowledge of support and operations practice, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and/or work experience
  • Minimum education required: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Licenses and credentials: None
  • Knowledge of Dataphile system preferred
  • Technical and/or business functional knowledge of systems, tools, timing, and dependencies
  • Ability to learn general understanding of rules/regulations and Stifel policies that pertain to the department
  • Initiative and selfdirection when performing tasks with ability to organize and prioritize effectively in order to meet deadlines
  • Able to handle large workload based on various projects and heavy volume periods
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
