Accounts Payable Supervisor
About the Position:
This position is responsible for assisting with the accounts payable functions for the ALS Group in North America.
Specific Responsibilities
- Sorting and coding invoices and other related paperwork for payables entry;
- Entering payables into accounting system;
- Handling accounts payable inquiries;
- Preparing cheque runs as scheduled and manual cheques as required;
- Maintaining various accounting systems and procedures to keep information and work organized;
- Processing month end entries;
- Filing;
- Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring quality of work;
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills;
- A high level of diligence and attention to detail;
- Computer literacy using Excel spreadsheets and Word;
- Possess previous knowledge of computerized accounting system;
- Strong ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines with multiple priorities;
- Flexible and has the ability to assist in other areas of the finance department;
- Ability to accurately follow instructions;
- A positive, teamplayer attitude with a strong work ethic;
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
- 12 years of experience in an Accounts Payable position or related role would be an asset;
- Completion of financial accounting courses preferred.
- Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;
- Ability to use and view a computer screen for up to 8 hours per day;
- Manual dexterity to do repetitive tasks such as data entry.
