  • As part of the production of a 3D series, we are looking for a layout artist at Montreal.
Within a human-sized team and in connection with the director, your role is central to the cinematographic staging.

In the service of the story, the Layout department is ensuring the enhancement of the sets and characters by installing the camera and the choice of framings, shot-to-shot continuity, and aesthetic movements.


Mission:

  • Under the supervision of the layout lead, you'll be in charge of creating the 3D scenes from storyboard/animatic while respecting the artistic vision of the project:
  • Creating 3D sequences and scenes by placing the characters and props into the set, setting key movements and actions of the characters while necessary
  • Interpreting the storyboard and respecting the direction intentions through pertinent and fluid 3D camera angles and movements
  • Adapting shots staging according to the composition and ensuring consistency and continuity between all scenes
  • Maintaining timing and production quotas given by the layout lead.
  • Executing the corrections requested by the lead and director by showing an analytic mind
  • Debugging or raising technical problems, solutions, or alternatives to the lead layout

Qualifications:

  • Skills in layout, narrative and aesthetic cinematography
  • Technical knowledge of camera composition and focus lens
  • Strong knowledge of Maya
- a minimum 1 year production experience in film or television series a plus

  • Exercise close attention to details, organized and a good sense of timing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate team player with a great attitude
  • Strong problemsolving ability and flexibility
Must be Canadian or Permanent Resident in Canada or hold a valid work permit.
