Abbotsford Precision Sheet Metal Company, Overlanders Manufacturing, has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Quality Supervisor.


The QC Supervisor is responsible for direct examination of products to ensure that quality standards and procedures meet Overlanders, and our customer's specifications and quality requirements.

Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the Quality Supervisor is responsible for strictly adhering to Overlanders' quality assurance policies, and identifying defects and or production errors in order to prevent defective products.


Duties and Responsibilities:


Quality Control Management:

Develop and implement quality control processes, procedures, and inspection plans to ensure adherence to quality standards at every stage of the manufacturing process.


Team Supervision:
Lead and manage a quality inspector, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Assign tasks and establish work schedules to ensure efficient and effective quality control operations.

Quality Assurance:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, engineering, and procurement, to establish quality standards and resolve any quality-related issues.

Implement corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances and drive continuous improvement.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of quality control activities, inspection results, and non-conformance reports. Prepare quality reports, statistical data, and metrics to monitor and communicate quality performance to management.

Audits and Compliance:
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems, industry regulations, and customer requirements. Coordinate external audits and certifications, ensuring adherence to applicable standards.

Supplier Quality Management:
Work closely with suppliers to establish and maintain quality requirements, evaluate supplier performance, and address quality-related concerns. Participate in supplier audits and inspections as necessary.

Root Cause Analysis:
Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues to identify root causes. Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to eliminate recurring quality problems.

Continuous Improvement:
Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives, process improvement projects, and quality enhancement programs. Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and cost reduction while maintaining or improving product quality.

Equipment Calibration and Maintenance:
Ensure that all measuring and testing equipment used in the quality control process is properly calibrated and maintained. Develop and implement a calibration schedule, track equipment status, and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements.

Customer Relationship Management:
Collaborate with sales team to address customer inquiries, concerns, and quality-related issues. Maintain open lines of communication with customers, provide timely responses, and work towards resolution to maintain customer satisfaction.


Skills & Requirements:

years' experience in a fabrication / machining environment

  • Ability to read, write and understand product specifications, as well as customer and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering blueprints, including GD&T symbols, to understand product specifications, tolerances, and critical dimensions.
  • Familiarity with different sheet metal materials, fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding, etc.), and surface treatments to ensure appropriate quality control measures are implemented at each stage.
  • Proficient in implementing and maintaining quality management systems, such as ISO 9001, to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Ability to perform precise measurements and inspections to assure compliance, with experience using measuring instruments including micrometers, scanners, and scales
  • Familiarity with various inspection and testing methods used in sheet metal manufacturing, such as visual inspection and dimensional measurement.
  • Ability to develop and document quality metrics
  • Ability to accurately and neatly complete documentation for each inspected lot
  • Ability to inspect printed material for content, weight, finish, and color match
  • Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Will be trained on company software
  • Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
  • Ability to work to achieve deadlines with strong time management skills
  • Have a strong drive and dedication to succeed in a fastpaced, high volume environment
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude

Employment Details:

Monday - Thursday: 6:00am - 4:30pm
Wage dependent on expe
