The Shipping Manager role, reporting to the Senior Vice President, ensures exceeding shipping schedules and maintaining quality processes. This position also supports the Assistant Shipping Manager and Logistics Coordinator to achieve shipping targets and goals.

Job Summary:

The Shipping Manager oversees efficient inventory movement, optimizing loading operations and resource allocation while ensuring safety compliance.

With strong leadership and communication skills, they drive productivity, growth, and a collaborative work environment within the dynamic shipping landscape.


Responsibilities:

Resource Balancing and Team Building:Optimize workforce allocation by assigning roles effectively and fostering unity within the team. Promote collaboration and problem-solving through open communication.

Quality Assurance:Conduct thorough inspections of proper and quality plant product and truck line-ups before loading, ensuring adherence to loading protocols. Provide regular trainingfor loading teams to ensure safety and procedure compliance.

Inventory Management:Address inventory discrepancies promptly, including missing, damaged, substituted and returned plants.

Resource Allocation:Skillfully distribute labour, equipment, and materials based on factors such as workload and expertise. Monitor and adjust resource usage to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

Safeguard Plants and Products:Monitor weather forecasts and implement measures to protect plants and products. Develop contingency plans with relevant teams to ensure inventory safety duringadverse weather.

Job Distribution:Equitably assign daily work instructions to shipping employees. Promote transparency by communicating objectives and expectations clearly.

Staff Training and Development:Provide ongoing training that enhances technical and personal growth. Foster a culture of improvement by gathering ideas from team members.

Safety Compliance:Conduct safety audits and implement corrective measures.

Cultivate a safety-conscious culture through reporting and recognition

Forklift and Tractors: Skilled and certified in operating heavy equipment. Ability to train others or troubleshoot smaller problems.

Compensation:

Competitive hourly pay of $33 to $40, with increases based on skill development.
