    Role and Responsibilities

    This position is exclusively open to students in the process of obtaining an academic degree
    Internship date : May 6 to August

    The role we are offering you:

    By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to support Defence and Security (Canada) in navigating political and geopolitical risk related to complex procurement and stakeholder relations:

    • Duties will include, but not be limited to:
    • Public policy, regulatory, and government data research;
    • Monitoring government operations and tracking Parliamentary business in Canada;
    • Contributing to government relations planning and execution;
    • Supporting writing and content creation to further thought leadership activities, digital communication and public-facing advocacy;
    • Drafting of briefing and background materials;
    • Providing support to business development and strategy functions across D&S Canada;
    • Attending relevant government and industry events, as appropriate; and
    • Administrative, scheduling, and logistical support as required.

    Our ideal candidate has:

    • Ideal candidate has strong writing and research skills
    • Is able to contribute to a fast-paced environment, strategic team with, enthusiasm and willingness to learn and tackle projects ranging from administrative to research and analytical to strategic planning;
    • Excellent work ethic, communication, and writing skills are required;
    • Knowledge of the Canadian political and legislative system will be considered an asset
    • Employee will assist with a broad range of tasks across CAE, including business development and stakeholder mapping and management

    Preferred Education

    • Must provide proof of current enrollment in a relevant field of study (ex. Economics and Public Policy, Political Science, Marketing, International Management), in pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate Degree;
    • Employees seeking an undergraduate degree must maintain a minimum of a Cumulative 2.5 GPA and those seeking a Master's degree must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.

    Location of the internship is Ottawa, Ontario.

    Internship will be carried out in hybrid mode/remotely.

    *All applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and must meet the requirements of the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP). All hires will be required to complete, sign and return the Controlled Goods Program form within a week of its transmittal. They must also provide a copy of their passport or birth certificate. All students with a work permit must provide a copy of it and a police clearance certificate from the country or countries where they have resided in the past five years.

    *Please take note that if you are on a student, work or international student permit, the delays for the security background check take minimum 12 weeks.
