Department Overview

TD Model Validation (MV) group is responsible for the independent validation and approval of analytical models used for credit, fraud, NLP, pricing, hedging, insurance, capital evaluations, and marketing. The Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) MV team is responsible for the validation of all AI/ML models used across the Bank for various use cases.

Job Requirements

Strong quantitative skills with an advanced degree in one or more of the following areas: computer science, engineering, machine learning, statistics, mathematics, physics, or actuarial science.
Proven experience as a Machine Leaning Scientist, Data Scientist or a similar role.
Experience with and strong knowledge of AI/ML methodologies including Deep Learning, Generative AI, modern Natural Language Processing (NLP), Transformers, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Diffusion models, Bagging/Boosting methods, and Generalized Linear models.
Experience with Deep Learning and Generative AI technology stacks such as PyTorch, Tensorflow/Keras, LangChain, HuggingFace, etc.
Motivated to stay up to date with the latest advancements in Generative AI, machine learning, and cloud technologies.
Proficient in one or more scripting/programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, R.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and big data technologies (e.g., PySpark, Hadoop).
Familiarity with principles of Object Oriented Programming (OOP).
Knowledge of machine learning explainability/interpretability algorithms.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (position requires writing clean technical reports).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced, dynamic environment. Good time management and multitasking skills with mínimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to implement AI/ML algorithms from academic research papers is a plus.
Experience with distributed computing and parallel processing using Spark.
Knowledge of SQL and database systems.

Proficiency in Other than French

This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support or deal with employees or colleagues who require services and support in a language other than French.
