The purpose of the Payment Decision Support team at President's Choice Financial is to provide analytics services such to capitalize on diverse sources of data to improve our understanding of customer behaviors in order to optimize profitability and improve customer experience.

To that end, the objective of this role is to provide accurate, easy-to-use and timely data and reporting solutions to enable evidence-based decisions across the enterprise.


What You'll Do:


  • Work with stakeholders across the organization to provide data support on business initiatives
  • Act as an owner of the data domain, have a continuous improvement mindset to advance data and analytics capabilities across the organization
  • Participate in the planning, development and implementation of technology data projects
  • Interact with stakeholders at various levels to deliver data solutions, identify usecases around data and data processes
  • Help pilot analytics and big data/cloud data technologies
  • Create business critical reporting and data processes as part of projects
  • Work with technology teams to improve data operations
  • Be handson coding in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) extract, prepare, and analyze data independently using GCP services
  • Monitor data quality and document data issues
  • Effectively communicate insights and share acquired knowledge with key stakeholders including senior executives
  • Strictly adhere to legal guidelines regarding working with sensitive and confidential information

What You'll Need:


  • 12 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in financial services/banking domain
  • University degree in Mathematics/Statistics, Business/Commerce, Computer Science/Engineering/Analytics
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in Python, Git, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with business intelligence and reporting platforms: MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI
  • Thorough working knowledge of relational databases and advanced SQL data extraction and manipulation tools
  • Experience in any of the following domains would be considered an asset: financial services/banking, credit cards/payments, credit risk, marketing campaigns, AML/KYC, call center operations
  • Understanding of data management/data governance concepts and best practices
  • Understanding of data warehouse, data mart concepts
  • Sound communication skillset, ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Demonstration of problem solving using combination of technical knowhow, soft skills and business acumen
  • Working experience with shell commands considered a bonus
  • Ability to interpret complex data flow and translate it into concise, easily understood solution plans to senior staff members
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinker who can learn quickly
  • Able to plan and organize effectively
  • Business analysis experience would be considered an asset
