Cegep Champlain St. Lawrence is seeking the services of an
INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY PEDAGOGICAL COUNSELLOR for a part-time permanent position.


Reporting to the Coordinator of Pedagogical and Institutional Development, the incumbent will perform stimulating and diverse mandates related to international mobility activities at the campus.

More specifically, she/he will coordinate the activities related to sending students abroad, via the campus mobility activities. She/he will develop tools and procedures to ensure the secure realization of international projects. She/he will also be responsible for welcoming international students.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote international mobility projects amongst the students and teachers; advise and support them in designing and delivering their projects.
  • Implement policies and procedures to help monitor logistics and the secure execution of projects while ensuring compliance with College requirements, particularly with respect to civil liability among others.
  • Develop tools allowing better supervision of internship projects abroad (updating agreement protocols, risk management guides, etc.).
  • Develop and deliver predeparture training for students going abroad.
  • Identify internship opportunities abroad for students.
  • Participate in developing partnerships with educational institutions outside of Quebec.
  • Support and supervise students in all steps before their departure (submission of requests to LOJIQ and Cegep international, administrative followups, relations with educational institutions abroad, etc.) and may be required to occasionally accompany students abroad.
  • Support faculty members in their mobility teaching initiatives.
  • Promote various international mobility projects, student achievements, and programs.
  • Research and canvas mobility projects for the campus.
  • Follow trends and opportunities pertaining to international programs and existing sources of financing.
  • Coordinate international student welcome.
  • Develop tools and guides for welcome procedures for international students.

QUALIFICATIONS

What are we looking for in this position?

  • Strong communication skills in English and French, both oral and written.
  • Basic communication skills in Spanish, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated experience in the organization of and the experience related to stays abroad.
  • Strong interpersonal skills allowing for excellent work relations while respecting cultural diversity.
  • Knowledge of legal obligations and civil liability pertaining to internships abroad.
  • Knowledge of different youth mobility programs and sources of funding.
  • Skills in writing and in the development of tools and guides.
  • Ability to act as a resource in elaborating and managing projects.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrate having autonomy and good judgment.
  • Responsible and has strong analytical skills.
  • Creative and open to innovation.
  • Available for occasional travel abroad.

EDUCATION
Undergraduate degree in an appropriate area of specialization, particularly in Education.
