Pioneer Construction is looking for a hard-working, self-motivated employee with a proven record of safety and reliability to fill the position of Heavy Equipment Technician in the Greater Sudbury Area.

This is a full-time permanent position available with competitive wages and group benefits package.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
Perform electrical, hydraulic and mechanical maintenance
Prepare daily service reports
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment and equipment
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental, Human Resources policies
Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Valid G license required
DZ license an asset
Heavy Duty Equipment Technician License or equivalent
35 years experience working on heavy machinery is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to diagnose and rectify faults and utilize diagnostic software experience.
Experience in repairing hydraulics and electrical systems.
Knowledge and ability to repair trucks, trailers and/or power equipment.
Ability to work as efficiently as possible with mínimal supervision.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Must be willing/able to provide your own tools.
