Job Summary


The Analyst Disaster Recovery Infrastructure is responsible for overseeing the coordination of the disaster recovery and business continuity plans to protect CN's critical business systems and information in the event of a disaster affecting IT operations.

This includes a wider IT resilience planning to incorporate those elements of IT such as infrastructure and telecommunication services. The Analyst will introduce optimizations and improvements based on test results and analysis. They will develop and maintain communication between the various support teams, which support the IT Service Continuity group.


Main Responsibilities

Operation Excellence

  • Direct and coordinate staff efforts to formulate departmentspecific disaster recovery plans
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of actual recovery plan implementation and efforts, including initial emergency response, recovery procedures, and business resumption processes
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analysis to identify vulnerable areas within the company's critical functions.
  • Continue to improve on existing and, if necessary, develop new processes and procedures to continuously improve overall operations and drive standardization and efficiencies as the business develops
  • Oversee changes and ensure we always remain ready now in the event of a disaster.
  • Recommend and implement disaster avoidance strategies and impact reduction strategies.
  • Confer with other I&T teams and other key personnel to determine if changes in hardware or software configurations affect disaster recovery plan outcomes
  • Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of contingency planning and development efforts

Delivery

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee enforcement of policies, procedures and associated plans for disaster recovery administration and business continuity based on industrystandard best practices.
  • Inform and train staff members on their responsibilities concerning business continuity procedures and emergency response
  • Ensure that company equipment, systems, services, and facility are compliant with disaster recovery plans and procedures
  • Oversees the coordination of IT Services Continuity Management by periodic disaster recovery simulations and tests in order to practice and perfect the execution of the disaster recovery plans. This includes the analysis of the simulations and test results, and followup with relevant I&T teams for plan improvements.

Requirements:


Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree or work experience

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong Project Management skills, along with effective use of policies and procedures
  • Organizational abilities to reliably manage audits, maintenance, and lead daytoday activities and
  • Ability to influence and implement new processes and procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong problemsolving skills

  • ITIL 2011 Foundation
  • Experience with DRAAS
  • Experience with auditing DR/BCP plans
  • Experience with SNow (creating dashboards and building reports)
