    The Opportunity:

    Our finance team is looking for a Tax Manager to join the team. You are a dedicated finance professional with an eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, ready to join a growing organization. This role will have you manage all aspects of tax compliance and planning for ecobee's Canadian, US, and UK entities and Generac Energy Technology's Canadian subsidiaries.

    How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Responsible for all aspects of overall income tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions in Canada, the UK, and the US, including US State income tax with the support of third-party tax advisors and preparers
  • Preparation of working papers supporting the Canadian, UK, and US Federal and State corporate income tax returns for multiple entities
  • Preparation of intercompany transfer pricing calculations and supporting documentation
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual year-end tax provision working papers for financial reporting and annual budget purposes
  • Support the Generac sales tax team by researching technical issues
  • Support the business by addressing customer and supplier questions and tax authority inquiries for Canada, the UK, and the US
  • Management of integrated sales tax software for automated online filings and remittances for US State sales tax
  • Preparation and filing of Canadian and UK sales tax returns
  • Support preparation of working papers and liaising with our R&D teams for Canadian SR&ED and UK research tax credits
  • Research and apply for relevant government tax incentives and coordinate efforts within the Company and external advisors, as applicable, to make those applications
  • Manage matters relating to assessments, audits and other administrative items from Canadian, UK, and US taxation authorities
  • Partner with Generac's Corporate income tax team to analyse tax issues related to potential transactions and general issues related to new legislation as they arise, and communicate changes effectively and proactively to relevant stakeholders
  • Manage regular ad hoc research requests concerning indirect tax, transfer pricing issues, international taxation and payroll tax/HR issues
  • Be the reliable go-to subject matter expert to help on whatever is required to support world-class Finance teams at ecobee and Generac
  • What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • CPA and have preferably completed the CICA In-depth Tax Course and/or have a Masters in Taxation or Accounting
  • 5 years of progressive tax experience, 1 to 2 years of industry experience preferred
  • You are well-versed in multi-entity structures and tax regulations for Canada, the UK, and US, including US State regulations
  • Experience with IFRS, UK, and/or US GAAP
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparation and report filing
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Knowledge of tax compliance solutions such as Avalara
  • Comfortable with NetSuite, SAP, or any advanced ERP would be great
