Description

The Ministry's Child Welfare & Protection Division leads policies, legislation, programs and service delivery reforms that deliver core child welfare services, including reforms to out of home services as part of a larger integrated, community-driven system with enhanced youth voice.

The transformation addresses systemic barriers to better outcomes and permanency for children, youth and families involved in child protection, including work with the federal government and First Nations, Métis and Inuit leadership on transformation that is based on reconciliation and is rooted in jurisdiction and control.

Central Region is one of five regional offices of MCCSS.

Regions serve as the primary point of contact for the ministry at the local level, nurturing relationships that facilitate solutions for pressing issues and promote better outcomes across a vast territory with a diverse population.

What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

  • Provide leadership and consultation to ensure the integrity of program and compliance reviews including the implementation of the new Quality Standards Framework.
  • Manage the implementation of licensing requirements of out of home services.
  • Provide direction and advice to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Ensure all Ministry programs comply with relevant legislation, Ministry policies and guidelines.
  • Lead reviews of agencies and regional business and administrative practices.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to licensing, program review and other assigned staff.
  • Support transformation, and change management.
