The Role


Initially at least 50% of your time will be focused on providing backup in the Corporate Travel space with the goal of taking over the travel portfolio completely in several months.

The remainder of your time will be spent supporting Finance Project Management Office projects.

Key goals of the department include facilitating processes, policies, communications, reporting and analysis as well as internal partner and external supplier relationship management.

In the Finance Business Analysis team we collaborate with our business partners, providing expertise in project methodology, requirements gathering, and test case development.

As a business analyst on our team you will utilize your business acumen to bring value by delivering on strategic initiatives.

You will utilize business analysis techniques to deliver tasks and ensure an optimal solution through the right use of technology, focus on customer service and corporate governance.

Strategic Thinking

  • Enhance current strategy to optimize the use of contracted travel rates and reduce internal resource dependency, including end to end process improvement and communication
  • Showcase innovation, change management, and ownership by leading initiatives and holding primary accountability for results
  • Extract, interpret, and analyze data to make recommendations and perform business analysis tasks related to projects

Education and Communication

  • Leverage your innate ability to quickly build rapport with your stakeholders while assisting and educating TELUS travelers, to help them manage any travel related queries on policies and processes, including interpretations and escalations
  • Ensure processes, training, and relevant documentation are uptodate and easily accessible to our stakeholders
  • Support timely training, troubleshooting, and issue resolution while balancing corporate policies and customer service requirements

Collaborative Partnerships

  • Collaborate with supplier partners to assist with escalations and completion of business reviews with contracted partners
  • Consolidate and analyze production reports, including meeting with partners to implement program improvements
  • Collaborate with our supplier partner to negotiate our annual hotel RFP
  • Interface with business units and external partners (as required) on cross functional implementation activities to meet deliverables and influence decision making to maximize operational efficiencies
  • Lead process improvement opportunities

Required Professional Designation/Certification
Post-secondary education/training in business and/or customer service or equivalent experience


You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • Minimum of 35 years' experience as a Business Analyst or related position
  • Excellent conceptual and analytical skills, with superb attention to detail
  • Strong ability to deal with ambiguity and complex issues and concepts
  • Strong time management and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to resolve internal and external conflicting priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information at all levels of the organization
  • High level of professionalism facilitating working with employees at every level of the organization
  • Ability to interpret policy and make decisions in accordance with policy guidelines
  • Strategic project execution
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting

Great-to-haves

  • Previous Travel program experience in a Corporate setting
  • Formal process improvement training
