Job Description:
Head of Department for Toronto Engineering College (Trade Division)


Responsibilities:


Leadership and Strategic Planning:
Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Trade Division, aligned with the college's mission and goals.
Provide visionary leadership and guidance to faculty members, support staff, and students within the division.
Set departmental objectives, establish performance metrics, and monitor progress towards goals.

Ensure that the curriculum meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in the respective trades.
Foster innovation in curriculum design by integrating new technologies, best practices, and industry-relevant skills.

Academic Excellence and Student Support:
Promote academic excellence and student success by encouraging effective teaching practices, research, and professional development among faculty members.
Support and mentor students, ensuring they receive a high-quality education, practical training, and relevant industry certifications.
Foster a culture of student engagement, retention, and career development within the trade disciplines.

Industry Engagement and Partnerships:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, trade associations, and regulatory bodies to enhance internship, co-op, and employment opportunities for students.

Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop apprenticeship programs, industry-driven projects, and community engagement initiatives.
Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and changes in trade regulations to ensure program relevance and student readiness.

Budgeting and Resource Management:
Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure responsible financial practices within the Trade Division.
Identify and secure funding opportunities, grants, and donations to support divisional initiatives, infrastructure development, and state-of-the-art equipment.

Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$15.50-$39.27 per hour

Education:
