JOB FUNCTION


The Supervisor is responsible for coaching and supervision of all staff involved in member service activities to ensure members receive high quality needs-based services.

They are responsible for monitoring the activities of MSRs and other branch staff, ensuring schedule adherence while monitoring compliance with PACE rules and regulations.

They will assist the branch manager in assessing staff performance on an on-going basis and in supporting staff development.

The Supervisor coordinates and oversees the daily operations of the PACE branch.

They provide member service, answering complicated questions, explaining bank services, and backing up other employees as needed while also building strong rapport with members where necessary by understanding and providing for their financial needs.


MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Member Service and Sales

  • Responsible for branch scheduling to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Responsible for coaching, mentoring, training and guidance to MSRs in all areas of member service, balancing, security procedures and product information.
  • Responsible for completing or delegating the maintenance of branch treasury, the balance treasury book, reconciling GLs and ATMs.
  • Provide support for member requests; support membership and account openings, deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, cheque cashing and general inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to promote and cross sell all credit unions products and makes referrals to specialists when required.
  • Ensure member service goals are set and achieved.
  • Coordinate and delegate daily tasks and reviews work for accuracy.
  • Provide overrides on transactions above the MSR limits.
  • Resolve complex problems and escalated member issues.
  • Responsible for reporting in branch.
B. Branch Administration

  • Perform complex estates and POA administration.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met, including audits and risk management activities.
C. Retail Lending Services

  • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with members. Identify and pursue opportunities through existing portfolio or referrals. Support the branch through actively promoting and selling consumer lending products including loans, lines of credit, mortgages, HELOCs, overdrafts and related insurance products.
  • Conduct interviews with members to identify personal lending needs; collect and analyze financial information, assess credit worthiness, approve credit within discretionary limits and/or makes recommendations for approvals/declines.
  • Support the achievement of branch sales targets and marketing plans.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of credit union lending, products and relevant policies and legislation.
D. Commercial Lending Services

  • Open small business commercial accounts.
  • Spot referral opportunities for lending requirements of small businesses such as nonprofit and sole proprietor commercial accounts.
E. Other

  • Adhere to the organizational risk policies to protect the interests of the members and minimize operational risk.
  • Actively participates in branch and credit union meetings.
  • Participate in community activities that enhance the credit unions image.
  • Adhere to security procedures as they pertain to the position.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
A


Knowledge:

  • Relevant College or University degree
years of member service experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 12 years previous lending experience; Experienced in credit underwriting, mathematical calculations on ratios and amortization schedules.
  • Completion of lending accreditation considered an asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial analysis and cashflow review
  • Knowledge of credit union policies and procedures relating to banking requirements.
  • A commitment to learning and development is required.
