    The Role

    Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accounting Analyst will be assisting with the Canadian Distribution month-end financial close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, reporting and billing requirements associated with our agency suppliers, and complex analysis of profit and loss accounts relating to advertising and promotional spend.

    What You'll Do

    • Assisting with the Canadian Distribution financial close processes, including the analysis of financial results, ensuring the accuracy of coding, and the completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Work with a number of data sources to create the billing and reporting needs for allocated agency suppliers, ensuring accuracy in accordance with agreed terms and conditions for each supplier contract
    • Record various balance sheet and profit & loss transactions such as sales orders, manual journal entries, accruals, prepaids and internal manual adjustments to ensure a smooth end-to-end process of billing needs
    • Perform variance analysis on assigned accounts, researching and correcting account discrepancies, proactively raise issues identified in monthly reporting packages and reconciliations
    • Collaboration closely with internal Sales, Marketing and Brand Manager stakeholders
    • Work with external customers on aged invoices and invoicing questions
    • Building relationships with agency Suppliers to continue to build operating effectiveness
    • Post journal entries as required during the month and at month-end
    • Contribute to continuous process improvement
    • Cross-train on various functions within the Accounting team
    • Maintain and update process documentation for areas of responsibility
    • Supporting on other special projects, as required

    What You'll Bring

    • 3+ years of relevant work experience
    • Completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related
    • CPA designation (or in the process of pursuing) is required
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Skillset to check documents and data for accuracy and completeness
    • Excellence in organizing and prioritizing work as well as dealing with challenging deadlines
    • Medium to Advanced Excel skills (large amounts of data sets)
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
