We are in search of a proficient, Ottawa-based Project Manager (PM) with extensive experience to undertake the role of an
independent contractor or fractional PM for a predetermined duration (12 months or more).

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with clients, partners, and internal teams to define the logístical aspects crucial for project success and adherence to requirements.
  • Guide the project's execution and implementation, overseeing the entire project lifecycle, which encompasses:
  • Developing project plans and overseeing contractual obligations, timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Conducting project kickoffs, milestone meetings, status updates, etc.
  • Enforcing project controls, including maintaining project plans, weekly status reports, financial analyses, meeting records, and coordinating staffing from a shared resource pool.
  • Manage client expectations, ensuring onbudget and onscope project delivery, and proactively addressing issues that could impact project success.
  • Foster consistent communication with clients and team members regarding project plan evolution, status, and adjustments.
  • Manage internal reporting and financial analysis for complex projects or multiproject scenarios.
  • Prioritize project tasks, manage time efficiently, and log project hours using designated time tracking software to remain within project budget constraints.
  • Ensure team members actively log project hours and generate necessary project reports for project support and managerial insights.

Day-to-Day Activities In this role

You will:

  • Oversee projects, including allocated resources, from project commencement to conclusion.
  • Develop project plans and document task details utilizing the provided tools.
  • Lead milestone discussions, create presentation materials, and present to clients.
  • Craft client communications in various formats.
  • Collaborate with the project team to devise and deliver solutions, monitor team wellbeing, address challenges, and identify solutions.
  • Engage with account stakeholders to provide project updates and review key performance indicators and project data.
  • Convey issues and potential solutions to management when necessary.
  • Document plans, processes, trends, observations, reports, meetings, actions, decisions, goals, projections, and requirements.
  • As a PM, you bear the responsibility for ensuring project profitability and overall success.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess 5+ years of experience in project management with external clients.
  • Hold 3+ years of experience in enterprise software implementations.
  • Show proficiency in serving as a Scrum Master on client projects.
  • Exhibit expertise in managing customer interactions with professionalism and tact.
  • Display proficiency in leading and guiding teams through project completion stages.
  • Prove a track record of effectively managing project scope, time, cost, and deliverable quality.
  • Showcase familiarity with the software development lifecycle.
  • Present exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, prioritization, and selfmanagement capabilities.
  • Exhibit aptitude for both team collaboration and individual initiative.
  • Possess a University or College degree or equival
