The City of Port Colborne is looking for a motivated individual with strong technical knowledge coupled with exceptional communication skills.

Reporting to the Chief Planner, the Development Services Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the developmental approval process by providing engineering and technical support in the review/approval of new developments to ensure compliance with City requirements.

This position also monitors the site works throughout the development process.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate the preparation/negotiation of Development, Site Plan and Subdivision Agreements and associated attachments and schedules, including comments and conditions from other City Departments and outside agencies.
• Attend preconsultation meetings to provide recommendations and direction.
• Perform detailed review of and comment on engineering submissions for new residential, commercial, institutional and industrial developments; identify required engineering work; meet with developer/proponent to explain/address any City concerns.
• Prepare and assist with administrative reports/bylaws for site plan, subdivision and development agreements, including any security/financial requirements and any special provisions.
• Review City By-Laws and policies and provide input regarding required revisions.
• Identify developments that require cost sharing arrangements, prepare agreements and coordinate
• Act as the primary contact during the construction phase of development projects.
• Liaise with the developer, contractor and consultants during the construction phase of development
• Supply information about municipal services, plans, and projects
• Supervise the engineering technologist, overseeing work and providing guidance.
• Review and administer the assumption of subdivision process.
• Oversee the review, approval and inspections of grading and lot drainage plans and municipal consents
• Performs other duties as assigned which are directly related to the major responsibilities of the job.
