As the Hair Stylist, you are responsible for providing a welcoming and professional environment for our residents by providing quality hair styling services.

** Please note this opportunity is available June 1st, 2024, part time opportunity 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

Conferring with residents to determine hair styling needs, preferences, and specifications for an immediate client base
Shampooing, conditioning, and drying residents' hair
Cutting, trimming and styling hair, including colouring and waving
Comfortable using various hairstyling tools and equipment, including hair straighteners, curling irons, rollers, hairdryers, and hot combs.
Clean and sterilize all hair styling tools and instruments in accordance with provincial health regulations. Including maintaining a safe and sanitary salon environment.
Maintain inventory of hair care products
Build and maintain relationships with residents

Qualifications and Experience

Completion of cosmetology program is preferred
Hair stylist license is required
Business operating license is required
Liability insurance is required
Three (3) years of experience is required
Required to have hair styling tools and products
Experience in an aging adults setting is an asset
Superior organizational skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers and residents
Superior oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Patient and detail oriented
