Description

Support individuals with a cognitive disability in every way possible to facilitate personal growth and relationship building, as they emerge in their rightful place within their community.

As part of a team create a home for the individuals living at KMRS that is respectful, positive and stimulating.

This is accomplished by developing an awareness and an understanding of each person's individualized needs while demonstrating unconditional acceptance and respect.

This is a casual position. Most shifts will be of short notice and could be day, evening, overnight sleep, weekends, holidays, etc.

Knowledge/Special Skills Required:

A combination of a University or College Degree in the Human Service field preferably with experience in working for adults with cognitive disabilities perferred but not required.
Clear criminal record check including vulnerable persons
Valid driver's license and insurable
Possess seven (7) Core Competencies or be willing to obtain
Value all individuals and respect diversity
Effective problem solving skills
Able to work cooperatively as a part of a team and independently when required
Must be selfmotivated, able to work with mínimal supervision and use good judgement in times of crisis
Strong communication skills
Patience and empathy are key in this position
